Today (16th June) the girls played at the

Paul Lawrie Scottish Schools Stroke Play Championships

played at Inchmarlo and Banchory courses.

In the handicap section Tara MacTaggart won with

rounds of 80 (65) and 84 (69) which is a great acheivement.

Kelsey MacDonald and Sammy Vass ( Highland) won the girls' team trophy

from Borders (Lesley Atkins and Isla Craigie) with City of Edinburgh

  (Gillian Simpson and Rachael Watton) third.

 

 

 

 

 

Lesley Atkins had a very successful week at the US Kids Golf

European Championship at Gullane, coming second, behind a girl from Denmark .

As a result of coming in the top two in her age group, she was selected to play for the

European team against the International team in a Ryder Cup style format.

Paired with a girl from England, as the Danish girl had to return home early, she defeated the International team pairing of a girl from Canada and one from the Philippines by 5 and 3 and helped her team win the Van Horn Cup by an overall 8 matches to 2.

A small ray of sunshine following the Curtis Cup defeat. Well Done.
